GET TO KNOW DR. ANDERSON!

Establishing a therapy practice that aids clients in developing healthier lifestyles, altering problematic behaviors, and making purposeful life decisions has long been a dream of mine. I consider it a privilege to be able to work with people as they confront and work through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

After earning my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2012, I worked in various clinical capacities including, but not limited to, school-based settings and in-home therapy programs with families impacted by poverty and other structural constraints. I believe in providing culturally-responsive therapeutic practices that honor people’s lived experiences and exploring their strengths and abilities.

In 2020, I completed my doctorate in Human Development and Family Science with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Georgia. In addition to operating my practice, I am an Assistant Professor of Family and Consumer Sciences at Morgan State University. I understand the importance of employing therapeutic approaches supported by empirical support that are rooted in facilitating true positive change.
